M State’s Medical Coding program provides students with the training necessary to assign medical diagnoses and procedure codes to patient records utilizing nationally recognized classification systems. These codes are used for medical billing, 研究, 报告, statistics and administrative purposes. Graduates of the program are eligible to take national coding certification examinations such as the Certified Coding Associate (CCA) or the Certified Professional Coder (CPC).

  2. Demonstrate effective written and oral communication.

  4. Summarize and evaluate revenue cycle management.

  6. Determine diagnoses and procedure codes and groupings according to official guidelines.
  7. 应用 knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, 药理学, and computer concepts and applications.
  8. Utilize technology for coding and other health information management applications.
